Epoxy Table Support

5. TABLE TOP SUPPORT / C - CHANNELS

Do you need to install C-channels for your table?

Again, there is no yes or no answer. This depends on your table design, table size, and the wood species used. C -channels can easily spoil the transparent look of transparent epoxy tables, and you are obviously not going to install C-channels across the epoxy section of the table.

Our table design tends to incorporate approximately sixty percent (60%) wood and forty percent (40%) epoxy with a smoky finish. We, therefore, prefer not to use C-channels. We rather use square tubing steel beams underneath the table to ensure stability and adequate support, with thick steel base plates to hold the wood in place.

C-channels may be perfect where sections of the table consist of a lot of wood or opaque epoxy.

The number and length of support beams are determined by the length and width of your table. The design of the supports is therefore just as important as the layout of the table.

We fit steel threaded inserts into the table and bolt them to the steel support base once it is delivered and placed in position.
